Cole is very smart and a quick learner. It doesn't take him long to pick up a trick, especially with food motivation. He can sit, shake, high five, speak, and lie down. He is great at fetch and returns the ball every time. Cole has a very handsome tail and the softest fur.

He gets along with other dogs well, he is the submissive type. He is easily bullied by more 'alpha' behaving dogs. He has NO aggression issues that we have seen. Although, he has not been tested with cats. Gets along great with children and is being fostered with a one year old and 4 year old. He even sleeps with the four year old. Cole does not enjoy being in a crate. He barks when left alone in a crate. We have been trying to work on this, but with little progress. However, he is house trained.

Cole has a little puppy destructive side, especially if not exercised. Fortunately, he doesn't chew 'big ticket items' such as furniture. He prefers to stick with children's wooden train tracks or similar small toys that are found on the floor. He also enjoys 'counter surfing' and has a pretty good reach if there is food involved. If he escapes through the front door, he will not come back when called, which has led to a couple of fun chases down the street. He does NOT try to get out of the fenced in yard, though.

Cole believes that he is a 23 pound lap dog. He likes to be with his people. He really is the perfect size. A great size to play with the kids and not get hurt, and not to mention, not hurt them. He is very gentle and loving. He still is a little excitable on a leash, but we're working on that, too, and he has shown great improvement. Cole, from what I've seen, loves water. On more than one occasion he has joined me or the kids (uninvited of course, at least in my case) in the bathtub. After all humans vacate the tub, he will stand there waiting for his bath. He loves a bath and I'm assuming he would also love water in other capacities.

Any 'shortcomings' that Cole has will probably be outgrown. He is just a puppy after all. Cole is the perfect family dog. I think he would enjoy being with a family with children and other nice dogs. He would enjoy a moderately active lifestyle where he would be included as much as possible--he does not like to be left alone. He enjoys being active, but likes to snuggle just as much.

Paws of Tomorrow is a non-profit group of volunteer dog and cat lovers whose mission is to rescue, provide sanctuary, and ultimately to re-home abandoned, stray and neglected animals. However, we are not a shelter and do not have a central meeting place for you to meet our pets. We strive to help the castaway dogs and cats, dedicating our time and knowledge to finding homes for these animals that deserve a better life. We offer vetting for seriously injured dogs and cats that would otherwise not receive a second chance at life because of the circumstances in shelters. We provide foster homes to these animals offering them an enormous amount of love and any medical attention that may be required to insure that they are in good health before adoption. All Paws pets that are taken into foster care are also evaluated for temperament and personality. This helps us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future owners. For those dogs that have not yet been transferred into our foster care program most of them are still in urgent need of saving and we encourage you to contact us to find out more about how to help them. Please take the time to review our site in its entirety before contacting us with questions. Our new FAQ page will answer those questions that the adoption may not address. Our adoption fee is $375 for dogs and $150 for cats. See the adoption page of our website for a full breakdown of that cost. These fees are non-negotiable and our website explains why. We do offer transport of your new pet to your local area, free of charge. If you are looking for a specific type of dog and do not see it on our website, please email us. We work closely with

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

Paws of Tomorrow is not a shelter, we are a foster based rescue group. All of our dogs are in foster homes and we require a completed application prior to visiting our doggies. We want to know a little about you before sending you to meet our volunteers. All of our dogs are on our website. If they have "pending" after their name, they are pending adoption. Some of our dogs have "foster me" after their names. This means they need a foster home until they are adopted. Please fill out a foster application if you can help by fostering.  We do adopt out of state but you must pick your new baby up from us. Our adoption fee is $300 for all doggies and puppies.  If you have additional questions, we recommend for you to email us at adopt@pawsoftomorrow.dog. All calls go to voicemail, which may take a few days to be returned. We are all volunteers so please bear with us.
