Monty is a great guy, that deserves only the best. He's continuing to learn and grow as a part of a family and I'm so proud of his progress. He loves playing with my other dogs and its a hoot to see him play with my 3-legged chihuahua mix. He's gentle and there have never been any problems with Monty playing too rough. If Monty wants to play rough he initiates play with my bigger dog Toby and the two of them could romp in the back yard for hours! Monty has become a bit more curious about the cat but when she lets him know he's too close for comfort he backs off... no aggression at all. Monty loves chewing on his nylabones and continues to do well with his "sit-stay" routine before meals. I've been working on getting him used to the usual noises around the house and focused on identifying any "problematic" behavior. I've yet to find any. He has no problems with the vacuum, the hairdrier, the dishwasher... nothing. In fact he loves when I dry my hair because I'm a captive audience so he leans against my legs and gets pets with my free hand. I've tried to illicit a negative response from Monty and have yet to get one... I mess with him while he eats (touch his food bowl, tug his tail and ears, pet him), I poke and prod him to desensitize him to vet visits (touching feet, palpating his belly, looking in his ears), he even let me clip his nails the other day! Wowzers. I've also noticed Monty doesn't bark. My other three boys bark when the wind blows the wrong way but he doesn't chime in... So being a watch dog is probably not for him. All in all Monty is a great dog. He's playful when its time to play and when its time for calmer activities he curls up on the couch and keeps my legs warm. Who ever snatches up this gem will be getting a friend for life. More about MontyGood with Dogs Paws of Tomorrow is not a shelter, we are a foster based rescue group. All of our dogs are in foster homes and we require a completed application prior to visiting our doggies. We want to know a little about you before sending you to meet our volunteers. All of our dogs are on our website. If they have "pending" after their name, they are pending adoption. Some of our dogs have "foster me" after their names. This means they need a foster home until they are adopted. Please fill out a foster application if you can help by fostering. We do adopt out of state but you must pick your new baby up from us. Our adoption fee is $300 for all doggies and puppies. If you have additional questions, we recommend for you to email us at adopt@pawsoftomorrow.dog. All calls go to voicemail, which may take a few days to be returned. We are all volunteers so please bear with us. |
